CHS has experience with, and is able to supply Air Cooled Condensers to the following industry sectors on a world-wide basis:
CHS ensures that the air cooled steam condensers described below, are designed to meet all customer, regulatory, code and standard requirements, incorporating the latest technologies available.
Virtually every industrial activity requires cooling and waste heat rejection, the power industry probably more than any other industry.
Often, the temperature level of waste heat is too low to serve any practical or economical purpose and billions of BTU's must be dissipated. A good example is the thermal power station, where the generated heat is rejected via an air cooled steam condenser.
The steam that is to be condensed flows inside heat exchanger tubes. Air is moved across these tubes by means of fans or natural draft towers, and takes-up the heat to be dissipated. The outside (airside) surface of the tubes is extended by the means of fins, to compensate for the poor airside heat transfer coefficient.
Aircooled steam condensers require no water and can reduce the annual water consumption of a CCAT plant by 95%.
Since air is always freely available, cooling plants can be sited independently of water sources.
Another factor to be taken into account is the time to obtain environmental acceptance. The selection of an air cooled steam condenser avoids the lengthy approval procedures.
CHS can also model, design and supply parts and equipment for performence enhancement for existing installations.
In addition to new and re-fit projects CHS also offers high quality, competitively priced, spare parts for all types and sizes of existing fired heater installations, on a priority basis. (burners, coils, piping, instrumentation, etc).
